President Kagame receives Tony Blair

President Kagame, yesterday, at Urugwiro village received Tony Blair who is in Rwanda to support the ongoing partnership between his Africa Governance Initiative (AGI) and the Government of Rwanda.
President Kagame and Tony Blair discussed the various initiatives that AGI is supporting in Rwanda, including those in the Office of the President, Prime Minister’s Office, RDB and the Public Sector Capacity Building Secretariat, with a view to improving public service delivery and promoting sustainable development.
Blair also held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and met with senior RDB officials. During his visit he is scheduled to meet with various government officials involved in the partnership with AGI and visit a public health initiative to view recent achievements in the health sector.
This is the sixth visit by Tony Blair to Rwanda and the first since President Kagame was re-elected last August. AGI has worked in Rwanda since 2008, supporting the Government as part of a long-term partnership to improve the effectiveness of public administration.
